The pancreas has both exocrine and endocrine functions. Its pancreatic islets contain four types of cells that secrete hormones - alpha cells secrete glucagon, beta cells secrete insulin, delta cells secrete somatostatin, and PP cells secrete pancreatic polypeptide.
