What is Nostalgia for Hammock Days about?

The poem expresses nostalgia for relaxing in a hammock as a child, escaping the heat of the house into the shade of trees at the edge of the woods. Lying in the hammock provided a peaceful respite from daily worries and stresses. While the speaker acknowledges modern conveniences, the experience of hammock time from childhood cannot be fully recaptured if tried again today.
