In a distributed mutual exclusi'on algorithm, a request set is used to record the identifiers of those sites to which a requesting site sends request messages. We propose a distributed mutual exclusion algorithm in which the request set is dynamically changed as the algorithm is executed. As the size of the request set is reduced, the number of messages exchanged per CS execution is reduced.
