About this document
Gas Turbine Combustor Overview by Mark Baguia Dandoy is a document available to read on EtoBox.
All jet engines have a combustor or burner where air and fuel are mixed and burned at high pressure. The temperature in the burner is determined by an energy equation that relates the temperature at the burner entrance, fuel-to-air ratio, heat of combustion, and efficiency. Increasing the fuel-to-air ratio can increase the temperature and thrust, but is limited by the combustion process and maximum material temperatures.
