What is Crocodiles in the Bathtub And Other Perils about?

Throughout the years celebrated pundit and writer George Jonas became well-known for his controversial attitudes on the perils and pleasures of modern society. Politics, law, international affairs. A refugee from Hungary, 1956, he lived in Canada from 1957 until his death in 2007"These pieces originally appeared in Toronto Life, in the Toronto Sun, and in The Canadian Lawyer between 1977 — and 1987. I'm grateful to editors Michael Posner, Don Obe, Marq de Villiers, Barbara Amiel, and John Downing for having invited me to write them. All pieces reprinted here remain virtually unchanged. I did cut a few for space, and literary conceit made me rephrase the odd sentence here and there. I also added introductions and footnotes for reasons of cohesion and topicality. My publishers and I felt that it would be unfair to alter the journalistic record by other changes. There was no need for an update — unhappily, perhaps — in any case."
