What is Fire-Induced Progressive Collapse Analysis about?

This thesis analyzes the potential for progressive collapse in single-storey steel buildings affected by local fires. Finite element models were created of steel truss systems with span lengths of 18 and 36 meters to analyze how span length impacts roof sheeting catenary forces. A hand calculation model was also used to determine catenary force strength. The finite element analysis showed greater deformation of trusses in the 36-meter model, indicating a longer span increases risk of progressive collapse. H
