What is Combined Intrastromal Injection of Amphotericin B and Topical Fluconazole in The Treatment of Resistant Cases of Keratomycosis: A Retrospective Study about?

This study evaluates the efficacy of combined intrastromal injection of amphotericin B and topical fluconazole for treating resistant fungal keratitis, comparing it to topical amphotericin B monotherapy. Results showed that the combination therapy led to a higher recovery rate (82.9% vs. 59.3%) and shorter recovery period (24 days vs. 39.66 days) with fewer toxic effects. The findings suggest that this combined approach is a promising treatment for difficult cases of keratomycosis.
