What is Deposition of Thin Films by Chemical Solution-assisted Techniques about?
The interdisciplinary fields of material science have led to the extraordinary use of twodimensional materials in micro-nanoelectronics, functional devices, sensors, display devices, and energy conversion-storage applications .Over time, it is established that electrical, magnetic, optical, mechanical, and thermal properties of material change significantly when the thickness of the material is scaled down from bulk (thickness !1-10 μm) to thin films (thickness $ 1-500 nm) . The variations of physical properties with thickness are attributed to the changes in the dimensional constraints such as confinement effects and the high surfaceto-volume ratio arising due to microstructural changes during the growth of the film. Owing to the very strong effects for surface-sensitive properties, the lower dimension of the constituent materials of thin films boosts the functionality of a device. Thus from the point of view of efficiency, controlled synthesis of materials along with uniform and defect-free deposition on solid or flexible substrates are the most significant aspects of high-performance devices. On the contrary, from the commercial angle, market viability, and affordability of the
