This action research investigates the impact of explicit instruction on cohesive devices on the reading comprehension of 24 non-English major students over six weeks. Results from pre-tests and post-tests, analyzed using Paired Sample T-tests, showed a significant improvement in reading comprehension scores, indicating the effectiveness of the training. Additionally, a survey revealed that students perceived the instruction as beneficial, with most rating it as effective.
