What is Outcomes of Penetrating Keratoplasty in Pakistan about?
This study evaluated the outcomes of 30 patients who underwent penetrating keratoplasty (PKP) at a hospital in Pakistan between 2003-2007. The leading indication for PKP was corneal scar (46.7% of cases). The overall graft survival rate was 61% after a mean follow-up of 12.3 months. Patients with keratoconus had the best outcomes, with a graft survival rate of 88.9% and 55.6% achieving a final visual acuity of 20/40 or better.
