This study investigates the control of aerodynamic forces on a finite-length square cylinder using steady slot suction at its free end. The results show that increasing the suction ratio significantly reduces overall aerodynamic forces, with maximum reductions observed at a suction ratio of 1. The findings indicate that the suction not only affects forces near the free end but also influences the entire cylinder span by altering the shear flow and suppressing vortex shedding.
