The 2011 Seattle Mariners are nominated for the Hall of Shame for worst team of the year. They just finished a 16-game losing streak, the longest of any team that season. While losing streaks are common, it seemed improbable for the Mariners to lose so many games in a row given the nature of baseball. The Mariners had few bright spots other than pitcher Michael Pineda and the poor performance of Ichiro Suzuki was surprising.
