What is Back-Titration Calculation for Na2CO3 about?

This document provides the steps to calculate the percentage of Na2CO3 in an impure sample. A sample was dissolved in excess HCl and the excess acid was titrated with NaOH. The moles of excess HCl were calculated and subtracted from the total HCl to find the HCl that reacted with Na2CO3. This amount was used to calculate the moles and mass of formed Na2CO3. The percentage of Na2CO3 in the sample was then calculated by comparing the mass of formed Na2CO3 to the total sample mass.
