What is BRCA1/2 Variants in Hakka Cancer Patients about?

This study investigates the prevalence and spectrum of BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations in 1,664 Chinese Hakka patients with breast and ovarian cancer, revealing 151 variants in 234 patients. The most common pathogenic variants identified were c.2635G > T in BRCA1 and c.5164_5165del in BRCA2, with a notable absence of a common mutation found in other Chinese populations. The findings indicate that the BRCA mutation landscape in Hakka patients differs significantly from other ethnic groups.
