This document provides instructions for three qualitative analysis tests to identify organic functional groups: 1) The unsaturation test uses aqueous bromine to detect alkene functional groups based on decolorization. 2) The oxidation test uses acidified potassium dichromate under heat to detect alcohol groups based on a color change from orange to green. 3) The acidity test uses a pH meter or indicator to detect acid groups based on a reading below pH 7 or the presence of effervescence in a carbonate test.
