What is Embedded Retaining Wall Analysis about?

This document analyzes the use of the Subgrade Reaction Method to calculate internal forces and displacements of an embedded retaining wall. Calculations were performed for a model cross-section of a deep excavation shoring wall in Warsaw using two types of earth pressure (active and at-rest). The results obtained from a Mathematica algorithm were compared to a commercial software program. Key challenges in using this method include accurately selecting the coefficient of horizontal subgrade reaction.
