About this document

Evolution of India by ralok.singh000 is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The structure of the Election Commission in India has evolved from a single-member body (1950-1989) to a multi-member body introduced in 1989. Although it reverted to a single-member format in January 1990, it became a permanent three-member commission in October 1993. Since then, the Election Commission has consistently operated with one Chief Election Commissioner and two Election Commissioners.
