This study uses life cycle assessment (LCA) to compare the environmental impacts of paracetamol tablets and syrup. The LCA finds that syrup production has higher impacts than tablets in more impact categories, both at the midpoint and endpoint levels of assessment. Specifically, syrup production contributes over 90% of climate change impact and over 50% of impacts in several other midpoint categories.
