About this document

Back Pressure in Steam Turbines by K Talaviya is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Windmills and waterwheels have historically used kinetic energy from wind and flowing water to power machines through rotation. Modern turbines use steam, with multi-stage turbines directing high pressure, superheated steam through alternating stationary and rotating blades to efficiently extract energy from the steam in multiple stages of decreasing pressure and increasing volume. This rotational energy can then be used to drive generators and produce electricity.
