What is Tuckman about?

Bruce Tuckman created a model in 1965 describing the typical phases a team goes through: forming, storming, norming, and performing. In the forming phase, members focus on the leader and maintain polite but distant relationships. In storming, members battle for respect and prove their value. If the team reaches norming, roles and relationships are established allowing them to concentrate on their work. Finally, in performing the team works powerfully and efficiently together.
