About this document
FBE Coatings for Oil and Gas Pipelines by Ishani Gupta is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coating is used to protect steel pipes from corrosion. It involves applying a powder containing epoxy resin and a curing agent that is sprayed onto preheated steel pipes. The powder melts and bonds to the steel surface. It then cross-links and cures to form a protective, solid coating as it cools. FBE coating provides excellent corrosion protection for pipelines and typically forms a uniform 250-500 micrometer thick coating. It involves cleaning the steel surface, heating it to 180
