This study investigates the structure of liquefied natural gas (LNG) import prices for Korea and Japan. Using a linear equation linking LNG prices to benchmark crude oil prices, the study considers a premium on LNG import prices. Kalman filtering is used to estimate the premium and price structure for LNG imports from Qatar to Korea and Japan, and from Indonesia to those countries.
