Joaquin Pardo de Tavera was a 19th century Filipino reformist and lawyer born in 1829 to Spanish parents. He studied at Colegio de San Juan de Letran and University of Santo Tomas, where he later became a professor. Pardo de Tavera organized the Comite de Reformadores to advocate for reforms in the colonial government. However, after the Cavite Mutiny of 1872, the new Governor-General blamed the reformists and Pardo de Tavera was exiled to the Marianas Islands. He received a royal pardon in 1874 and left fo
