Sawata National High School conducted a vermicomposting program from August 2018 to September 2018. The program involved cleaning and preparing two vermi beds, collecting substrates like manure and straw, applying the substrates to the beds, introducing half a kilo of vermi worms, maintaining moisture and feeding the worms. In September, 100kg of vermicast was harvested from each bed, new substrates were applied, and worms were reintroduced. The harvested vermicast was then used to fertilize vegetables.
