This study investigates the energy efficiency of producing lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) through ultrafine friction grinding (UFG) at varying solid concentrations. Results indicate that a 20 wt% solid loading significantly reduces energy consumption from ~30 kWh to 3.1 kWh per kg of LNPs while achieving similar particle sizes compared to lower concentrations. The findings highlight the potential for optimizing lignin production processes to enhance sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
