A king and queen, longing for a child, are blessed with a daughter after the queen saves a fish. At her christening, twelve fairies bestow gifts upon the princess, but a thirteenth, angry for not being invited, curses her to fall into a deep sleep at fifteen, which is softened by another fairy to last a hundred years. After the time passes, a prince awakens her with a kiss, leading to their marriage and a joyful reunion of the entire kingdom.
