The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 2300 block of Green Street Southeast on July 5, 2015 at around 5:29 am. Officers responded to reports of trouble and found a 24-year-old man, later identified as John Jones of Southeast DC, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
