This document discusses a study examining a potential diagnostic marker for childhood apraxia of speech (CAS). The study assessed lexical stress patterns in bisyllabic words produced by 35 children referred for suspected apraxia of speech (sAOS). Eleven children met criteria for sAOS while 24 had speech delay (SD) but not sAOS. The lexical stress ratio (LSR) scores of the sAOS group differed significantly from the SD group.
