A new species of water beetle, Coelometopon riberae, is described from Mkambati Nature Reserve in South Africa. The species is distinguished from others in the genus by its dark brown to black coloration and granulated dorsal surface bearing curved setae. It was collected from wet rock faces at the type locality. Notes on morphology and a description of the new species are provided.
