This document presents new radiocarbon dates from late Pleistocene mastodons and mammoths found in New York state. Ten specimens were dated, including 7 mastodons and 3 mammoths, ranging in date from 12,000 to 15,000 years ago. This implies it took around 10,000 years for these species to disperse into the area after the last glacial maximum.
