What is Vammika Sutta: Insights by Mahasi Sayadaw about?

This document is an introduction to the Vammika Sutta, a discourse delivered by Mahasi Sayadaw. [1] It provides background on the sutta, explaining that it was originally preached by the Buddha and later elucidated by Mahasi Sayadaw. [2] It describes how the sutta uses the analogy of a large ant hill to illustrate Buddhist concepts in a simple way. [3] The introduction sets up the story, where a Brahma god posed 15 riddling problems to the monk Kumārakassapa, which would later be answered by the Buddha.
