Thermal analysis methods including DTA/TG and calorimetry were used to evaluate the kinetics of cement hydration and modification of phase composition when waste expanded perlite is added to cement mixtures at levels from 2% to 35%. The results show that the perlite accelerates cement hydration due to pozzolanic reactions and forms hydration products.
