The presentation showed that Shell plans to cut the costs of its electrolyzers by around 80% to $1.5/kg by 2030, based on a large-scale electrolyzer factory in Norway. This price of electricity represents around 5-6% of the cost of green hydrogen. Hazer further aims to reduce the cost of green hydrogen to be competitive with grey hydrogen below $1/kg by 2030 through its iron oxide catalyst technology.
