About this document

Myofibroblasts in Lip Carcinogenesis Study by Ciro Dantas Soares is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study investigates the role of myofibroblasts (MFs) and extracellular matrix components in actinic cheilitis (AC) and lower lip squamous cell carcinoma (LLSCC). The findings indicate that ACs have a higher number of α-SMA+ MFs and a correlation with solar elastosis, while LLSCCs show reduced collagen deposition and a negative correlation between α-SMA+ cells and total collagen. Overall, the research suggests that MFs and changes in collagen and elastic fibers may contribute to lip carcinogenesis.
