What is Pirate Parrots and Pieces of Eight about?

Billy Bones is an important character in Treasure Island because his sea chest and treasure map set the adventure in motion. His tattoos, which say "Billy Bones his fancy", suggest that his favorite thing was pleasure. The novel explores the satisfaction of desires and greed as the motivation for all characters seeking treasure. It influenced how pirates are depicted as burying treasure and marking maps, which was popularized in the 1950 film adaptation.
