The solid-vapor reaction properties of three transition metal sulfonates and amines were investigated and the reaction products were characterized by EA, TGA, IR, PXRD and single crystal structure analyses. (III) can react with primary alkyl amine vapors and form stable monoamine-coordinated Cu(II) and Cd(II) complexes. All of the amine adducts are crystalline materials. The reactions between [Cd-(p-NH 2 C 6 H 4 SO 3 ) 2 ] (III) and C 2 H 5 NH 2 or n-C 3 H 7 NH 2 produced single crystals in situ via the solid-vapor reaction process.
