Elez Dervišević was the youngest soldier who fought in World War 1 for the Austro-Hungarian army. He was just 11 years old when he decided to leave school and join his brother in defending Austria-Hungary against Serbia. During his service of over 19 months, he rose to the rank of corporal and received several medals for bravery.
