What is Revised about?
In Cameroon’s North-West region, traditional rice harvesting methods lead to significant post-harvest losses, with manual threshing causing 20% to 30% of waste. The National Development Strategy 2020–2030 aims to modernize agriculture by promoting small-scale mechanization and local production. A project is underway to design a locally made threshing mechanism for rice combine harvesters to reduce losses and improve the livelihoods of smallholder families.
