The court held that (1) a British citizen or neutral who voluntarily resides in an enemy country during a time of war is considered an alien enemy, (2) an alien enemy is not permitted to bring legal proceedings in England, and (3) an alien enemy may be sued in England and defend themselves in court, and if found liable, appeal any judgment against them.
