What is Bixin about?

This document summarizes a study that investigated the effects of the carotenoid bixin on cisplatin-induced oxidative stress in rats. The study found that pretreatment with bixin significantly reduced cisplatin-induced chromosome aberrations and lipid peroxidation in rats. Bixin also inhibited renal glutathione depletion caused by cisplatin.
