What is Buchholz Relay: Construction & Working about?

The Buchholz relay is a mechanically operated relay that protects transformers from internal faults. It contains two floats - an upper float connected to an alarm circuit and a lower float connected to a circuit breaker. When a fault generates gases in the transformer tank, the gas rises and causes the oil level in the relay to drop, triggering the alarm float.
