What is Best Christmas Present Analysis about?

The old lady was sitting in a wheelchair outside a conservatory, wrapped in blankets despite the warm day, looking frail and tired. When the author approached her, she began to tell him about her childhood in Germany before World War 1, and how she and her friends would sneak into the kitchen and steal marzipan treats from the cook every Christmas. She reminisced tenderly about those happy memories, and wistfully said how much she still loved marzipan, though now she had nobody to share the treats with.
