John Gallop, son of John and Mary Crabbe was born ca 1590 in England. He married Christobel Brushett on 29 January 1617 in England. Gallop left for Boston on 20 March 1630 and arrived at Dorchester, Mass. 30 May. Christobel and the children had remained in England and did not join John until 4 September 1633. Gallop was a pioneer in coastal trade between Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. He was the first to engage in transporting the first naval task force sent out by any New England colony. His will was dated 10 October 1649. Christobel died 27 September 1655 in Boston. They had five children
