This study investigates the heat transfer and friction factors in a double pipe heat exchanger fitted with twisted tapes consisting of wire nails (WN-TT) compared to plain twisted tapes (P-TT) across various twist ratios. Results show that WN-TT significantly enhances the Nusselt number, friction factor, and thermal enhancement factor, outperforming P-TT and plain tubes. Empirical correlations for Nusselt number and friction factor are also developed based on the experimental data.
