A simple phenomenological, nonlinear lattice-dynamical representation of magnetic ordering in solid 3He is proposed and discussed. It appears to support the idea that low-energy spin-wave-like excitations are absent, due to the self-consistent coupling between spin and lattice variables. The model, oversimplified as it is, provides reasonable qualitative or semiquantitative agreement with a number of experimental findings (two characteristic temperatures, thermodynamic and magnetic properties). A few further tests are proposed.
