A fight broke out between the Montague and Capulet families in Verona again on June 2, 2010. During an altercation between Tybalt Capulet and Mercutio, Tybalt fatally stabbed Mercutio who then cursed Romeo Montague and Tybalt before dying. Enraged, Romeo murdered Tybalt in retaliation. The Prince, informed by Benvolio, subsequently banished Romeo from Verona as punishment for the deaths, despite Benvolio arguing it was not Romeo
