This yielded the usual selection rules AJ = 0, AK = 0 for pure rotation bands, AJ = 0, ±1, ~K = 0for parallel bands and AJ = 0, ±1, AK = A~ = ±1 for perpendicular bands. However, further computations involving small terms indicate that the forbiddeu transitionsaK = -4-3 for pure rotation; andAK = ±2 for parallel and perpendicular bands should also be allowed.
