The Supreme Court held that an agreement to sell land can be entered into and advance sale consideration sought even if the land requires sanction for conveyance from a tribal to non-tribal under state law. A suit for specific performance of such an agreement can be decreed subject to obtaining the required sanction. The conveyance takes place only upon registration of the sale deed, not before, so entering into the agreement is allowed.
