About this document
Elijah Hancock: A Pioneer Legacy by Liz Snow is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Elijah Hancock was born in 1844 in Illinois to Phoebe Adams and Solomon Hancock. His father Solomon was a missionary for the LDS church. When Elijah was about 10 days old, their home in Illinois was burned down by a mob. Phoebe and Solomon then traveled west with their children, arriving in Salt Lake Valley in 1849. Elijah remembers finding useful items along the trail that helped his family. As a boy in Payson, Utah, Elijah and his family were spared by Indians who remembered an oath made to Elijah
