What is Alternative Methods for Haemolysis Measurement about?
This study evaluates three alternative methods for calculating percentage haemolysis in red cell concentrates at peripheral blood banks in Sri Lanka, where standard photometers are unavailable. The methods include a visual haemoglobin colour scale, a spectrophotometric calibration graph, and a standard haemolysate capillary tube comparison, all of which showed strong correlation with the gold-standard method.
